Most people don’t realize that drag itself has been around in TV and film for decades. From “Bugs Bunny” to “RuPaul Charles,” the media have always given a nod to the comedy of men pretending to be women — the art of female impersonation.

This video by Vanity Fair shows the cast of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 10 reviewing drag in movies through the years. In includes contestants such as Blair St. Clair, Monique Heart, Monét X Change, Yuhua Hamasaki, Eureka O’Hara and The Vixen films like “Some Like it Hot,” “Tootsie,” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Hairspray.” Theo video shows the a diversity of the “drag” aesthetic from comedy to men trying to pass off as women. We also see the art and intricacy involved in bringing these characters to life that makes them so memorable. Drag has always fascinated me, and I respect the craft of drag performers and dedication to it.
