DanceOn, the dance and music entertainment network, has teamed up with British designer Paul Smith to spread awareness for LGBT Pride month with a video shot in front of the Paul Smith store on Melrose Avenue.
The famous pink wall of the stores has been transformed for Pride month by Instagram into a rainbow mural. Visitors to the rainbow wall are encouraged to use the #KindComments, #PaulSmithLA and #DanceOnPride hashtags.
The pink wall, which will return on July 1, is one of the most photographed and tagged locations on Instagram.
The DanceOn video is choreographed by Will Johnston and stars Derek Tabada and Johnston. Johnson is recognizable from his role in “The LGBTQA Alphabet” short dance film by Equinox and the New York City LGBT Community Center. Both dancers are Angelenos and are wearing a “Suit to Travel In” from Paul Smith. Andrew Fernandez oversaw video production. The choreography is to “Clearly” by Dylan Hyde, just released by Motown records. The video also includes images of the unveiling of the rainbow wall by photographer Jeff Vespa.
